About me

Designing and making unique contemporary jewellery has been my passion for going on 7 years now. In 2008 I completed my Bachelor of Fine Art with Honours at the Queensland College of Art, majoring in Gold and Silversmithing. Since then I have been creating myself a studio space anywhere I can, from invading the living room to even claiming a corner of the bedroom for my bench.

I aim to create work that is complex in construction yet appears aesthetically uncomplicated and uniformed. Much of my work has developed from considerations of line and form, and has been influenced by the Bauhaus and de Stijl movement. The use of geometric shapes figures strongly in my work with an aim of incorporating them in such a manner that promotes shape uniformity and design purity. I create pieces that explore jewellery’s ability to influence the wearer through aesthetics and technical aspects. It is the challenge of making something that is technically sophisticated appear aesthetically uncomplicated and uniformed that is where my passion lies.

Jewellery design and making appears to be the beginning of much excitement for me. I have many grand plans for exploring my ideas on a larger scale in unique furniture and functional objects. So watch this space…

Just a little note to remember that when ordering my pieces please keep in mind that I make my work to order, so there maybe a two to three week period before receiving your jewellery.
