Jewellery designing/making is a love of mine that takes me back nearly 9 years. I graduated from the Queensland College of Art with First Class Honors in 2008, with my major in Gold and Silversmithing. I enrolled in a Fine Arts degree way back in 2003 thinking I was going to be a painter, however it doesn't always pan out the way we think it's going to. In second year university I needed to take on a class to fulfill my credit point obligation and due to my impressionable nature at the time I followed my best friend into Gold and Silversmithing. I had very little desire to do this studio area but I got to hang out with my best buddy, so I thought I might as well give it my best whilst I was there. Second semester rolls on in and I was addicted to working in metal... bye bye painting, and hello creating awesome wearable pieces out of metal!
This is my calling. I love connecting with people and finding out their stories in order to create pieces of jewellery that allow them to express who they are and make them happy. And as a bonus through my collection pieces, I get to express to people who I am and let them know my story, with a hope that they'll find a connection within them too.
